MA Upper (Middle & High) School 

Highlighted Openings:

  • Upper School 7th-12th Grade Math Position:

    Madison Academy is seeking a full-time Upper School math teacher starting in August 2025. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of mathematics coupled with a developed relationship with the Lord. This position requires active engagement and support, creating a positive classroom environment, and the ability to adjust your teaching methods as needed to support diverse learning styles. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with colleagues.  We are seeking a candidate who is experienced in teaching both algebra and geometry in middle school and high school and is degreed in mathematics and/or is certified to teach in the state of Alabama.

MA Lower (Elementary) School

  • MA Elementary 2nd Grade Teacher:

    Madison Academy, a Christ-centered private school, is seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time 2nd Grade Teacher to join our team for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will integrate biblical principles into the classroom, fostering a nurturing and academically rigorous environment for our students. This is a self-contained grade level, with the teacher being asked to teach all core subject areas, including Bible instruction.

The counselor will provide guidance and support to students, promoting a positive, nurturing environment where children can thrive socially, emotionally, and spiritually.   • MA Elementary After-School Care Director

    Madison Academy Elementary is seeking a compassionate, responsible, and organized Elementary After-School Care Director. This position will oversee the after-school care program for elementary-aged students, ensuring a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. The After-School Care Director will supervise and lead a team of staff, manage daily activities, and foster positive relationships with students and their families, all while integrating Christian values into the after-school program. This is a part-time, hourly position with a daily commitment from 2:30 to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, during the school year. All half-days per the Madison Academy calendar or early dismissals will not offer after-school care services.

    Responsibilities:

    • Program Supervision: Oversee the daily operations of the after-school care program, ensuring that all students are cared for in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
    • Leadership and Staff Management: Lead, train, and supervise after-school care staff, ensuring clear communication and adherence to school policies and procedures.
    • Activity Planning and Implementation: Plan and organize age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development, while integrating Christian values through lessons, games, crafts, and other enrichment activities.
    • Student Supervision: Ensure students are supervised at all times and maintain appropriate behavior and respect for others. Address any behavioral or disciplinary issues in a positive, constructive manner.
    • Safety and Well-Being: Prioritize student safety by maintaining a clean, organized, and secure environment. Be prepared to handle emergencies and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
    • Parent Communication: Foster strong communication with parents, keeping them informed of their child’s activities, needs, and any important updates. Be available for parent questions or concerns.
    • End-of-Day Procedures: Ensure a smooth transition at the end of the day, coordinating student pick-up and ensuring students are released only to authorized individuals.
    • Budget and Inventory Management: Assist with the planning and management of the program’s budget, including supplies and materials needed for activities.
    • Faith Integration: Integrate Christian teachings and values into the after-school program, encouraging kindness, respect, and spiritual growth in everyday activities.
    • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records related to attendance, incidents, and any other documentation required by the school.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: High school diploma required; a college degree or certification in education, child development, or related fields is preferred.
    • Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with children in an after-school program, camp, or childcare setting. Previous leadership experience is highly preferred.
    • Christian Faith: A strong commitment to the Christian faith and the ability to incorporate Christian values and teachings into daily activities.
    • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills to ensure a smooth-running after-school program.
    • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of staff, manage daily operations, and address any issues that arise with students or staff.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and staff. Ability to handle sensitive situations with care and professionalism.

  • Business Office Manager

    Madison Academy is seeking a full-time Business Office Manager starting in May 2025. The Business Manager supervises the work of business office personnel in addition to a developed relationship with the Lord. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    Financial:

    • Use standard accounting and bookkeeping procedures, to keep an accurate continuous record of the cash and financial position of the school and manage the financial operation of the school so that the institution remains financially stable.
    • Prepare a monthly operating statement for the President and the Board of Directors.
    • Establish a plan and schedule for the preparation of the annual budget that will permit the setting of the succeeding year’s tuition at a Board of Directors meeting early in the calendar year.
    • Provide for the securing of an annual audit of the school’s financial records and financial positions.
    • Oversee all school purchasing, financial investments, banking activities, payroll.

    Payroll:

    • Calculate and process monthly payroll.

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or associate’s degree  accounting, finance, or related field with applicable experience in a business office setting.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks, FACTS) and payroll software (e.g., CheckWriters, Paycor) is highly desirable.
    • Ability to handle sensitive financial and personal information with confidentiality and integrity.
    • Strong organizational, attention to details, and multi-tasking skills.
       
  • MA Security Officer

    Madison Academy is seeking a full-time professional security guard to join our team.  The ideal will be committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our students, staff, and visitors coupled with a developed relationship with the Lord. This position requires the ability to proactively monitor our expansive campus while utilizing policies and procedures set forth by the campus security team.  

    Responsibilities: 

    • Monitor and patrol the school campus to ensure a safe and secure environment.
      Respond to security breaches, disturbances, or emergencies promptly and efficiently.
    • Provide assistance during school events and activities.
    • Enforce school policies and regulations regarding security, access control, and visitor management.
    • Maintain clear and accurate records of incidents, activities, and any issues that arise.
    • Collaborate with school administration and staff to address any security concerns or needs.
    • Participate in regular safety drills and training sessions.

    Qualifications: 

    • Previous experience in security or law enforcement.

The person who fulfills this position is accepting a very important role in the functioning of the school by maintaining cleanliness and prevention of illness.  The custodian should strive for excellence, promote a safe school environment, and communicate effectively with the administrative staff and faculty.   Under a spirit of collaboration, love and concern for friendliness and helpfulness, the custodian helps the school achieve its mission under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and Operations and Madison Academy’s Principal.  A custodian should maintain confidentiality and professionalism while performing assigned tasks and relating with students and staff.
