At Madison Academy, we call our school uniform program, “Spirit Wear.” Studies have documented the benefits of school uniform programs, including safety, improved academics, and less social tension. Our Spirit Wear is unlike traditional school uniform programs. Our program provides plenty of options to allow students to express their individuality. At the same time, school personnel can quickly identify someone who doesn’t belong. This program strikes an appropriate balance. It can even reduce stress at home as decisions about what to wear become less complicated.

The Corral, Madison Academy’s school store, is the only source for Spirit Wear and is located at the main entrance to the high school.

Basic Spirit Wear Guidelines:

Spirit Wear Tops: Students may only wear approved Spirit Wear tops during the regular school day, uncollared shirts, polos, sweatshirts, hoodies, and dri-fits with the MA logo, and be one of five approved colors: maroon, gold, white, gray, or black.

Spirit Wear Bottoms: Students may wear khaki shorts or pants that closely match the standard uniform khaki color that is widely available. All students’ khaki shorts or girls' skirts should be modest. Pants: Khaki or black—jogger or chino (no sweatpants) of modest fit.

Outerwear: Coats and jackets worn during the school day should have the approved school logo and be in one of the approved colors: maroon, gold, white, gray, or black. If a student wears a coat or jacket not in the approved colors and logo, they should place the outer garment in the student’s locker upon arrival at school.
