MA Alumna Rachel (Weaver) Reynolds Named New Head Volleyball Coach

We are excited to announce Mrs. Rachel Reynolds (MA Class of 2004) as Madison Academy's new Head Volleyball Coach. Her lifelong connection to MA gives her a unique perspective and heartfelt commitment to the mission and values of our school. Coach Reynolds brings a deep love for Madison Academy, a wealth of coaching experience, and a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court.

After graduating from Madison Academy, Coach Reynolds went on to play club volleyball at Auburn University and earned both her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Auburn and a master’s degree in Teaching from the University of West Alabama. April (Hall) Ledlow — MA Class of 2007

Since graduating from Madison Academy in 2007, April has dedicated her career to education and ministry in the classroom. She has served as an Upper School English teacher at Madison Academy since 2011, where she strives to create a student-centered, relationship-driven learning environment. April earned her Bachelor of Science from Auburn University and her Master of Education from the University of Alabama, and was honored as Madison Academy’s Teacher of the Year in 2023.
In November 2025, April will present at the National Council of Teachers of English Conference, sharing her vision for the “Barbie Dream Classroom”—an exploration of how design, community, and mission come together to inspire meaningful learning. She credits her time as a Madison Academy student for shaping her philosophy of teaching as both a calling and a ministry.
We couldn’t be prouder of April and the incredible impact she continues to make—both in and beyond our classrooms. Her passion for teaching, commitment to her students, and deep sense of purpose reflect the very heart of Madison Academy’s mission. Watching one of our own lead, inspire, and represent our community on a national stage is a true blessing. Congratulations, April—we celebrate you and all the ways you shine the light of Christ through your work and example every day.
MA Alumni Return For A Great Day On The Course!
We are thrilled to share that this year’s Madison Academy Benefit Golf Tournament, held on October 13 at The Ledges, was a sold-out success! Under clear skies and perfect weather, 120 golfers came together for a day filled with friendly competition, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to supporting Madison Academy students and programs.
It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces on the course—along with the many gracious volunteers who gave their time to make the day possible. We were especially proud to welcome back numerous MA ALUMNI who continue to embody the heart and spirit of our community. You may recognize some of these familiar faces in the photo below or view the complete photo album of the days events. We have also included the full list of MA grads who joined us for this year’s tournament.

Sarge Marge Honored
Last year at our MA Golf Tournament, we introduced the 19th Hole Sponsorship—a moment set aside to honor those whose vision, dedication, and sacrifice have profoundly shaped our Madison Academy Community. Our inaugural honoree was the late Dr. Terry Davis, whose legacy continues to inspire us all.
This year, we were proud to present this meaningful honor to Mrs. Margie “Sarge” Smith.
Mrs. Smith joined Madison Academy as a classroom teacher in 1972 and went on to serve in a variety of roles until her retirement in 2020. Over the course of her extraordinary five decades of service, she became a beloved and larger-than-life presence—guiding, inspiring, and mentoring generations of students, families, and colleagues.
Surrounded by family, friends, and alumni, we were thrilled to celebrate Sarge’s incredible legacy and express our heartfelt gratitude for the countless ways she has shaped the Madison Academy story. We love you Sarge!
