Madison Academy Fine Arts Mission

• Equip Madison Academy students to pursue a college major in the fine arts discipline of their choice through formal education and training, exposure, and experience
• Build student participation in and parental support of fine arts through cross-curriculum performances and exhibits (e.g., musicals, etc.).
• Attain financial support sufficient to allow each performance to be conducted in a venue that complements the artistic effort of the students.
• Present a positive image of Madison Academy to the community and encourage a servant attitude through participation in external performances (e.g., parades and concerts) and service projects.

Band Goals

• Establish a standard of excellence such that Superior ratings are the norm at all competitive events (Marching and Concert Band.)
• Collaborate with the other sections of the Fine Arts department to establish a showcase of individual student works (a "Night of the Arts.")
• Continue to work on updating equipment and facilities to ensure the continued success of the Band Department
• Establish a small instrumental ensemble that can be used for outreach ministries (performances at retirement homes, etc)

Chorus Goals

• Establish a standard of excellence such that Superior ratings are the norm for District and State Competitions.
• Continue the tradition of the church tour concerts as a public relations tool.
• Expand the role of chorus to include outreach ministries.

Drama Goals

• Establish and grow a Drama Booster Club to support and encourage the Drama program.
• Update facilities and equipment to enhance performances.
• Continue to expand the Drama department by adding a 6th grade class, a technical theatre class, and a musical theatre class.
• Periodically perform cross-curriculum plays (musicals) that utilize the talents of students in Drama, Band, Chorus, Art, and the student body at large.
• Establish a Drama Troupe that can be used as an outreach ministry.

Visual Arts Goals

• Develop a curriculum that provides the skill sets and exhibition opportunities for students on a local, regional, state and national level.
• Create a permanent gallery for the exhibition of student and alumni works of art.
• Establish technology as an integral component of each student’s creative experience.
