Qualifies for State Meet!
The boys finished second at sectionals behind Randolph with Sardis being a distant 3rd. Josh Wolfe was our first finisher followed by Russell Grant, Jason Clark, Jackson Moore, and Jordan Matthews. The boys qualified to run as a team at the state meet for the FIRST time in Madison Academy history. The state meet is at the Oakville Indian Mounds on November 13th.
The girls ran their best race of the year (five having season best times) and finished 4th. They are in a very tough section with Pisgah and Randolph ranked 3rd and 4th in the state. In the end they lost to Sardis by 5 points. Five team members -- Katie Nahay, Sarah Bailey, Emily West, Libba Gilliam, and Maci Moore -- qualified to run at the state meet as individuals. Katie Nahay set a new team
record running the 5K in 22:58.
