August 28th Results
The cross country team travelled to Fairview on Saturday, August 28, for the opening meet of the season. There were 14 schools competing at the meet. The girls placed 4th behind Pisgah, Decatur and Arab for a great start to the season. This is the highest finish at a varsity meet for a MA girls team. Sarah Bailey (13th), Katie Nahay (14th) and Maci Moore (24th) all placed in the top 25. The boys finished 7th narrowly missing a 5th place finish by 10 points. Josh Wolfe (17th) and Russell Grant (23rd) placed in the top 25. It was a great start to the season.
If you'd like to see the team in action, they will be participating in the Falcon Invitational on September 4th at the John Hunt Cross Country Park(right next to the Huntsville Municipal Golf Course). The girls race starts at 9:00am and the boys race starts at 9:45am.
